A.S. Major Requirements

Associate Degree Major Requirements The Child Development major consists of 27
required units of core curriculum. The remaining units will be taken in an area of
emphasis that the student selects. Students must choose at least one area of
emphasis.
NOTE: All courses in the major must be completed with a grade of "C" or
better to receive a certificate.

Any student who chooses to complete only the
courses required for the major including an area of
emphasis qualifies for a Certificate in Child
Development. To receive a certificate, an official request
must be filed with the Admissions and Records Office
