DSPS High Tech Center
The High Tech Center, also known as the HTC, is located in the Library
in room C-102. The High Tech Center is a computer facility for students
with disabilities. Students are e
ncouraged
to come to the HTC to learn about assistive computer
technologies appropriate to their disability. The HTC is also
where students would go to discuss and pick up Alternative Media
Formats of their textbooks.

- Screen Reading Software (Kurzweil)
- Text Magnification Software/Hardware (ZoomText Software
and Clarity Hardware)
- Voice Recognition Software (Dragon NaturallySpeaking)
- Tutorials (Skills Bank and SkillsTutor)
- Ergonomic keyboards and mice
- Voice Amplifiers for hearing impaired
- Other assorted software and hardware
Alternate Media
Alternate Media is provided to disabled students according to
their individual needs and preferences. Some of the textbook
formats offered include:
- Textbooks on CD
- Electronic-Text
- Large Print
- Braille
- Other formats as necessary and available
