Microsoft and Accessibility

  • Microsoft Documentation in Accessible Formats for Microsoft Products If you have difficulty reading or handling printed materials, you can obtain the documentation for many Microsoft products in more accessible formats—see table below. Also, find keyboard assistance for many Microsoft products.

  • Microsoft Keyboard Shortcuts, find keyboard shortcuts for leading Microsoft products that help save time and effort and provide an essential tool for some people with functional difficulties and impairments—particularly dexterity and visual.

  • Microsoft Accessibility Tutorials are step by step tutorials that introduce you to some of the most commonly used accessibility features. The instructions show you how to use the mouse or keyboard to navigate, select options, and change settings. This information is presented in a side by side format so that you can see at a glance how to use the mouse, the keyboard, or a combination of both.

  • Microsoft Word Resources for Educators Do research and collaborate with students easily with Microsoft® Office Word 2003. This edition of the Microsoft Office System enables you to feel confident about delivering work both to your peers and students.

  • PowerPoint in the Classroom An Interactive website on how to use PowerPoint in the Classroom.  Paper based tutorials are also available. 

  • Atomic Learning (tutorials for both Windows and Mac based products) Atomic Learning provides software training using a unique, just-in-time approach. Our library of thousands of short tutorials on dozens of applications are focused on answering the common questions teachers, students and anyone else may have when learning software. We like to call them "atoms of learning" and they are easy to access whenever and where ever you need them. A subscription to Atomic Learning provides you access to all of the tutorials and other valuable educational resources.

  • BATS (Baseline Access, Training and Support) is a California State University initiative to provide all students, faculty, and staff with "baseline" access to information resources via networks, training in the uses of baseline hardware and software systems, and ongoing professional and technical support for utilization of computer resources at San Diego State University. The BATS program is part of Instructional Technology Services.
