Welcome to the Cuyamaca College 2005-07 Accreditation web site 

The purpose of this web site is to acquaint you with the Cuyamaca College accreditation team structure, processes, and major activities related to achieving re-accreditation for the institution by the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges/Western Association of Schools and Colleges (AACJC/WASC). The accreditation site visit by representatives of AACJC/WASC was scheduled to take place October 22 - 25, 2007. 

The AACJC/WASC is a regional accrediting agency recognized by the United States government. Accreditation by this agency signifies to the educational community and to the public at large that Cuyamaca College has met the standards of quality recognized as necessary for graduate competence and public funding. 

The preparation of the institutional Self Study is the cornerstone of the accreditation process. To this end, broad based accreditation teams have been formed that draw from all college constituencies—students, faculty, staff and administrators. The Self Study will incorporate current and historical information to document and analyze how well the college meets accreditation standards in the following areas: Institutional Mission and Effectiveness; Student Learning Program and Services; Resources; and Leadership and Governance. As well, the college is committed to adopting recommendations that will ensure continuous improvement in providing high quality education that is congruent with its mission. 

This web site is designed to provide a communication link among constituencies and facilitate the dissemination of information and sources to prepare the Self Study. By using the links to resources itemized on the left, you will have access to resources and guidelines for the preparation of the Self Study. Through this web site, you are invited to participate in the resource sharing that is an integral part of the accreditation Self Study process.
