Effective Spring 2013, the enrollment priorities procedures for the Grossmont and Cuyamaca Colleges have changed. These changes are being implemented in response to the Board of Governors Student Success Task Force Recommendations to facilitate greater access and success to students seeking to meet their educational goals.

- Course Repetition Changes

The California Community College Board of Governors recently passed revisions to Title 5 regarding course repetition that will take effect during the 2012 summer semester. Students will only be allowed to enroll in a course three times if they received a substandard grade (D, F, NP or NC) or withdrew from the class with a “W.” Students with extenuating circumstances may seek approval to enroll in a course for the fourth time through the petition process. These changes do not contain a grandfather clause so any student that has already taken a course the maximum number of times will no longer be able to take the same class within the Grossmont-Cuyamaca Community College District.

- Enrollment Fee Changes

Health Fee Changes: The GCCCD Governing Board approved an increase to the mandatory student health fee to $18 per semester for Fall and Spring, and $15 for Summer. Additionally, the student health fee will no longer be waived for students who receive the Board of Governor’s Fee Waiver B (BOGW B). These new provisions go into effect beginning in the Fall 2012.

- Prerequisite Enforcement
Beginning Fall 2012, course prerequisites will be enforced for all applicable courses. Please visit the Grossmont College Catalog or Cuyamaca College Catalog to review course prerequisites. - Financial Aid Changes
New rules and regulations will be in effect that may impact your financial aid. These changes include:- • Federal Pell grant limits
- • Receiving financial aid for repeated courses
- • H.S. Diploma/GED required for New Students
- • Online courses and receiving financial aid
