Notes: |
Please plan ahead:
Students must submit all official transcripts from all outside institutions prior to requesting a transcript evaluation. Please allow 6 to 8 weeks
for your official transcript evaluation to be processed. If you are requesting your transcripts to be evaluated prior to the start of a semester
please submit your evaluation request 6 to 8 weeks prior to the first day of registration for that semester. |
What is a Transcript Evaluation?
Cuyamaca College provides students who have completed coursework at outside
institutions with an official evaluation
of how this coursework applies to:
- Associate degrees and certificates at Cuyamaca College.
- CSU GE Certification for students transferring to a California State University campus
- IGETC Certification for students transferring to a University of California campus or a California State University Campus
How to Request a Transcript Evaluation?
Please allow 6 to 8 weeks for your official transcript evaluation to be processed. To have your transcript evaluated you must:
- Be currently enrolled at Cuyamaca College.
- Send official transcripts from all previously attended institutions to the Admissions and Records office.
(Students who have taken coursework at Grossmont College do not need to
send official transcripts to the Admissions and Records office.) Click to find
information on foreign transcripts and regional accreditation.
- Meet with a counselor to discuss your educational goal and complete a
transcript evaluation request.
- If you have taken courses at independent or out-of-state colleges or universities, you may
be
asked to provide additional information such as a
course description or a course syllabus.
How do I receive my results?
You will be contacted by the Counseling department when your evaluation has been completed.

Accepted Accreditation
Colleges and Universities must ensure the quality of the education they offer by adhering to a specified set of evaluation criteria determined
by private educational associations called accrediting agencies. Colleges and universities that meet an agency's criteria are then "accredited" by that agency.
To be accepted by the Grossmont Cuyamaca Community College District, your courses must have been taken at an institution
regionally accredited by one of the following agencies:
| Abbreviation |
Accrediting Association |
| MSA |
Middle States Association (of Colleges and Schools) |
| NASC |
Northwest Association of Schools and Colleges |
| NCA |
