Candidate Statement:

To whom it may concern,

While attending Cuyamaca Community college, I have been an active member of the Associated Student Government. For the last two semesters I have become familiar with many of the members and have attended almost every meeting. This has given me a large understanding of what the ASGCC mission at the school is and how meetings are conducted. I feel like I could offer the knowledge I received while in the United States Navy working with MWR which includes how to come up with interesting moral busters and how to properly fund student events. I currently hold office for President of the Student Veteran’s Organization that is helping me to improve my leadership skills which will be a necessity as treasurer of the ASGCC. While in the United States Navy I worked in Logistics for two years giving me professional training on proper budget documentation and funding for large scale events. I contributed to the planning of the Coyote Music Festival held in May 2013 which was extremely successful. I feel like I have some experiences that would allow me to truly offer some of my knowledge to the college while holding the position of treasurer. Thank you for your consideration of accepting my candidacy for treasurer.
