During the last ten
years, Cuyamaca College has steadily increased in enrollment and now has
well over 9,000 students. The college has nearly 100 dedicated full-time
faculty and administrators, and over 100 caring and supportive staff
members. We currently offer 57 associate degree programs and 70
certificates. In addition to providing our students with an array of
in-demand occupational and pre-professional programs, Cuyamaca College
is a leader in preparing students for transfer to both the California
State University (CSU) and University of California (UC) systems, as
well as to many private colleges and universities.
As you might have
already gathered, Cuyamaca College has a well-deserved reputation of
‘leading the way’ – from developing the region’s workforce to providing
the highest quality instructional programs in some of the most beautiful
and newest facilities. In spring 2007, Cuyamaca College opened a
state-of-the-art Science and Technology Center that provides students
with the most up-to-date technologies in computer and information as
well as earth sciences and further establishes Cuyamaca College as the
“Gateway to Health Professions and Biotechnology”. Just this past fall,
Cuyamaca College celebrated the grand opening of its award-winning
Student Center, and most recently, we celebrated the long-awaited grand
opening of the spectacular Communication Arts Center. Currently, the
college is in the process of constructing a fourth new facility – the
Business/Computer Information Sciences building. These new and welcomed
additions are being complemented by a host of facility renovations and
overall campus improvements - such as ample parking, easily accessible
walkways, and convenient signage.
These new and welcomed
additions will be complemented by a host of facility renovations and
overall campus improvements which together will greatly expand the range
of instructional programs and student support services that our students
have come to enjoy and expect. Our students not only enjoy the benefits
of studying in these state-of-the-art facilities, but do so while
attending classes on one the most beautiful college campuses in the
state. Nearly 30% of the college campus is a protected nature
preserve! In addition to the nature preserve, students attending
Cuyamaca College also enjoy spending time at the Heritage of the
Americas Museum and the Water Conservation Garden, both located on the
college’s grounds.
Cuyamaca College has a
reputation of providing the highest quality of services to our students
and neighboring communities. Your success is critically important to us
and we will do all we can to help you achieve your educational goals.
You are strongly encouraged to seek the assistance of one of our very
friendly and always available counselors to develop your Educational
Development Plan. Our counselors will assist you to plan your courses
carefully, meet your assigned registration dates and academic year
timelines, and provide you with tips on how to study and complete your

success. On behalf of all the faculty and staff here at the college, I
