I.  Online Orientation Assignment

An online or face-to-face orientation helps set the stage for your course.  Like the first class session in a face-to-face course, the orientation is your chance to share expectations and answer questions.  The difference is that you will also need to introduce Blackboard and other technologies you are using.

In this assignment, you will either develop an orientation lesson plan for a face-to-face orientation, develop an online orientation, or write an orientation letter to students.  If you choose to develop a plan, include a list of topics and/or learning activities you'll include with rough time estimates for each.  For an orientation letter, include a welcome message, general information about how your class will work, and instructions on how to get started.

You can send an orientation letter by email or regular mail.  Admissions can print mailing labels for you.  You can request that students send you an e-mail in the class schedule and respond to that with your orientation letter.

Here is an example orientation:

Upload and submit your orientation file to Blackboard Assignments under Wk 6 folder.  Place your orientation in your Blackboard Container and tell me where to find it.
