How to be Successful in PDC 124 Online
Advice from Previous Students
- As with any online course, the
key is to meet your deadlines. I personally take online courses
because they are not regimented in that you don’t have to attend every day
between 8:00 and 9:00. Some weeks my schedule is erratic and I fit my
assignments in accordingly. It is critical that you be current because once
the deadline closes, the next chapter begins.
- If you are the type of person
who lags, an online class is not for you.
- I love online classes, but it
takes a lot of discipline.
- Don’t even think about taking an
online class unless you are going to have some dedication. Just because it
is online doesn’t mean you are going to be able to slide through the class.
- DO YOUR WORK. It’s not brain
surgery. Just don’t be lazy.
- Make sure your read the
material. It may seem that you can breeze through an online course, but
you are the true loser if you are only looking for the easy way out.
- Read the material before you
take the quiz. There is definitely not enough time to find the answer once
the quiz has started.
- Don’t get behind on the work.
It killed me!
- Just do the work and have fun
with it. You will learn a lot about yourself and your career.
- Check the online website daily
to stay informed about any assignments that are due.
- Divide up the tasks to
complete each week and do a little each day. Designate a day for
reading, discussions, journals, and assignments. Waiting until the end of
the week (Sunday night) makes the class so much harder and does not allow
you time to enjoy this class.
- DON’T PROCRASTINATE! The
tendency to put things off is greater when we are only accountable to
ourselves. Don’t let yourself wait until Sunday night to do the
assignments. Try to give yourself a fake deadline to get things done ahead
of time.
- You have a lot of freedom to do
this class. Take the time to do it right.
- Ask questions if you don’t
understand. Don’t be afraid.
- You should schedule more time
for an online class than a regular class because there is a lot of reading.
- Don’t slack off because on
online class goes so fast you can miss an assignment in a blink of an eye.
Keep up with the reading and your will succeed in this class.
- Embrace the freedom on studying
where and when you want without the burden of attending class. The effort
you put in will determine the quality of knowledge you take away.
- Develop a positive attitude and
devote a decent amount of time to this class each week.
- Aim to get everything done on
Saturday and leave Sunday to relax.
