Welcome:

As you may know, public higher education in California is facing drastic budget reductions for the third year in a row. Even though we have struggled through three years of drastic budget cuts, the Counseling Department is committed to meeting the educational needs of our students.  As a result of the budget situation, the number of available counseling appointments has been greatly reduced.  Please review the links below for information specific to new and continuing students.

Continuing Students

The Cuyamaca College Counseling Department is committed to helping students achieve their educational and career goals. Whether the goal is to take one course, earn a certificate or an Associate Degree, or transfer to a four-year college, Cuyamaca Counselors are available to assist.

The department’s commitment is to provide quality educational, career, occupational and personal counseling and create a climate and structure in which each student has a maximum opportunity for self-fulfillment.

News:

Counseling Appointments

Counseling appointments are available now. Please call the Counseling Center to schedule.

Personal Counseling is available for issues related to academic success.  Counselors can also assist with professional referrals to community resources.

Cancellation/Missed Appointment Policy

Our goal is to provide quality service in a timely manner. In order to do so, we have implemented an appointment/cancellation policy. This policy enables us to better assign available appointments for our students in need of counseling services.

Cancellation of an Appointment

If it is necessary to cancel your scheduled appointment, you are required to call at least 24 hours in advance. Appointments are in high demand, and your early cancellation will give another student the possibility to have access to timely counseling services.

How to Cancel your Appointment

To cancel appointments, please call 619-660-4429 during our hours of operation. If your appointment is on Monday, please call during our hours of operation on Friday.

No-Show Policy

A "no-show" is someone who misses an appointment without cancelling it in an adequate manner. Failure to arrive at the time of a scheduled appointment will be recorded as a "no-show." Students who "no-show" for an appointment must wait four weeks before scheduling another appointment with a counselor.
