COMMON MISCONCEPTION:

  • Some students have the misconception that it is better to take an online course if you are too busy and don’t have the time to dedicate to a college class. This could not be further from the truth! If you make the commitment to take a college course, you should be honest and ask yourself if you really have the time it requires to be successful. If you don’t, this does not mean that an online course is the solution to your problem; you should enroll at another time.

  • Another misconception is that when you take an online course, you go at your own pace. This is not true. This course follows a detailed course calendar with due dates to which students must adhere.

IS YOUR COMPUTER READY FOR ONLINE SPANISH?

  • Click HERE and update all of your browsers (Firefox, Safari, Chrome. Explorer doesn’t always work well with Blackboard).
  • Submit your preferred email address via WebAdvisor so that you will get all of my emails.  (note: you must update your personal information through WebAdvisor, this information gets synced with Blackboard daily.)
  • Download SKYPE internet video phone and set up an account. You'll need it for this class.
  • Click HERE and go through the setup wizard to make sure your computer is up-to-date. If the setup wizard found some problems, go HERE to downloads and plugins.
  • Set up a YouTube account HERE.  You’ll need it for this class.
  • Click HERE to see how to put accents using your computer. Placing accents on words in Spanish is not an option!  This is part of the orthography of the Spanish language.
