CARE PROGRAM Overview
for SINGLE PARENT STUDENTS
who want to attend college
CARE is designed for single parent students who participate in the EOPS program and receive CalWORKs/TANF assistance.
Our goal is to provide support and services to help overcome
the extra obstacles that may be holding single parents back from
attending college, obtaining a certificate or degree, and
acquiring marketable career technical skills.
CARE SERVICES
As a CARE student you will receive all the
EOPS services plus you may
be eligible for these extras:
- CARE child care grant - study time
- Transportation assistance
- Success Seminars
- Cohort building events
ELIGIBILITY
To qualify for CARE you must:
- Be determined EOPS eligible.
- Be single and head of household.
- Be at least 18 years old.
- Have at least one dependant child under the age of 14.
- You or your dependant child currently receive
TANF/CalWORKs
(Temporary Assistance to Needy Families).
- Be enrolled full-time at Cuyamaca
College.
LIMITED AVAILABILITY
Due to state budget concerns, CARE offers limited program admission. Please stop in or
call the office to inquire.
TO APPLY
- Complete the EOPS and CARE applications found on the
form page and submit to CARE .
- Complete the TANF Agency Certification form found on the
form page.
- Provide a copy of your Welfare-to-Work contract.
- Complete the CARE Orientation.
CARE ORIENTATION
All students admitted to the CARE program MUST attend a CARE
and EOPS Orientation.
CONTINUING STUDENTS: Your next CARE Orientation
Session will be held:

NEW STUDENTS: If you apply after the orientation
date above, you may complete an online CARE orientation instead.
Allow approximately 1 hour.
