Lockers
The lockers located in the men’s and women’s locker rooms are for your use while you are using the Fitness Center. Please bring your own lock, and do not leave money, keys, or valuables in an unlocked locker. When you have completed your workout, please remove your lock. Locks left on lockers will be subject to removal without notification. Do not bring items into the Fitness Center.
Sound System
A quality sound and cuing system is provided in the lab. Please do not bring additional sound sources into the facility.
Food and Drink
Please do not bring food or drinks of any kind into the Fitness Center. Chilled water is available at the drinking fountain.
Warm Up
Before you begin the Super Circuit, we recommend that you warm up for 10-15 minutes. Use the aerobic machines and/or stretching mat in order to prepare your body for the more vigorous workout. This will gradually increase your heart rate and blood pressure and warms the working muscles.
Total Fitness Circuit
You must complete one circuit/24 stations per visit.
Alternate between 12 stationary cycles and 12 weight lifting machines for your aerobic workout. Join the circuit at any empty station. Move through your aerobic workout. Move through the Super Circuit from the aerobic machines to the back of the facility. Follow the audio message that reminds you when to change stations and occasionally check your heart rate to ascertain whether you are at your training level. Machines in the Super Circuit are for Super Circuit use only! Do not attempt to weight train in the Super Circuit.
Body Parts
This equipment is not part of the Super Circuit. After completing your circuit (s), you may continue to use these machines. If participants are waiting on this equipment, do one set and return later.
Cool Down
After completing your workout routine, ride the stationary cycle slowly or do your stretching routine to allow your heart rate and blood pressure to return to normal levels. We recommend you stay in the Fitness Center until your heart rate is less than 100 beats/minute.
Grading
Credit/Non Credit is determined by participation time. A visit must be at least 30 minutes and no longer than two hours in length. Twenty hours are necessary for a half unit of credit. Maximum of 2 hours credit per day. This is a semester length college class governed by all grade and refund deadlines.
Attendance Requirement
It is the student’s responsibility to officially withdraw from any class not attended and to discuss anticipated absences with the instructor. Regular weekly attendance is required.
Policy on Excessive Absences
When absences exceed twice the number of hours a student is expected to complete in two weeks, the instructor may institute an excessive absence drop.
Student Code of Conduct
Student conduct must conform to district and college rules and regulations. (See Cuyamaca College Catalogue Student Code of Conduct for further information.) Fitness Center use will be suspended for inappropriate behavior including disorderly, lewd, indecent, obscene, or disruptive activities that interfere with the college’s primary educational responsibility; as well as cheating. If a student is caught cheating, the result will be no credit for the class.
