This course uses multiple technologies to present class materials. You must be able to configure your computer to access these technologies.

o Moodle—course management system is used to organize the course, deliver materials, deliver exams, facilitate communication, submit labs, and record grades.
o VMWare virtualization software—is used to provide a stable, online and in-class environment for students to complete lab assignments without endangering their home or the lab computers.

Lectures—are actually discussions.  I will conduct a short overview of what we will be studying each week along with some demonstrations.  The remainder of the lecture time period will be a discussion of the topic, text and outside readings.  Students must come to class prepared to discuss the material.

Labs—are assigned weekly.

Weekly Quizzes—there are weekly quizzes on the materials covered that week. The quizzes are timed written quiz covering topics covered in the text and lecture.

Online Discussions—there are seven discussion items to be completed.

Final Exam—the Final Exam is a practical application exam where the student will be required to configure a computer based on information they receive from a scenario developed by the instructor.  The scenario will be similar to unguided practices included in lab exercises.
