Your Works Cited list should appear
on a separate page and follow all the MLA format guidelines.
- Type 'Works Cited' and center it.
The header should be created in 12 point type or smaller. It does
not need to be in bold type, italicized, or underlined.
- Entries begin with the author's last
name, followed by a comma and the author's first name. If the
author is not known, begin with the title.
- Entries should be alphabetized
according to the first word of the citation (when alphabetizing titles,
ignore all articles, such as The or A). Each
citation should be double-spaced and prepared according to MLA
guidelines.
- There should be a one inch margin on
each side of the page, as well as along the top and bottom.
- All titles of books, periodicals, and
websites should be underlined.
- Titles of articles should be in quotation marks.
- Begin the first line of each entry at
the margin, but indent all remaining lines five spaces. This is
called hanging indentation.
- Do not number your entries.
- List only works you have cited in
your paper. Works you consulted, but did not quote should not
appear on your Works Cited page.
