Creating an MLA Works Cited page

MARGINS:      

One inch on all four sides of your paper.

TYPE SIZE

12 point

TYPE FONT

Times New Roman or Times Roman

SPACING

Double-space your essay, including the header.

INDENTATION

Indent the first word of a paragraph one-half inch (hit TAB once)

PAGE NUMBERING

Place the page number at the top right corner of your paper. Type your last name before the page number.  Place a page number on the first page.  You can use the “Header/Footer” function under VIEW in MSWORD.

HEADER

On the left side of your paper, place your name on the first line. 

The instructor’s name and assignment name goes on the second line. Place the class name and number on the third line, and place the date on the bottom line. Below are several examples.
