Library Research Midterm Assignment

DIRECTIONS:  Choose a SHORT STORY from the Cuyamaca library collection, or you may choose one of your own (with approval.)

Content:

Your assignment is to TYPE   a Summary and a Reaction/Response to a short story of your choice-- a minimum of 1 page and a maximum of 2 pages (approximately 3-5 paragraphs) in length. The Summary section must be at least one paragraph in length and cover the main points of the story, and the remainder of the paper is your response to the reading.

Format:

1. Title: Name of Short Story—center, top line

2. Also, be sure to state the title of the short story that you choose, and the author’s complete name, in the first paragraph or Summary.

3. This assignment MUST be typed, in a standard 12 pt. font, double-spaced.

4. Be sure to put your name (last, first), class and section, in the upper right hand corner of  each page, number the pages if necessary, and staple multiple pages together.

5. Use correct grammar, spelling, and punctuation.

6. THIS ASSIGNMENT WILL SERVE AS YOUR MIDTERM EXAM, AND REPRESENTS 10% OF YOUR GRADE.
