Purpose:
This website is designed to help you complete your ET research paper research.  The written report provides the student with the skills for researching information using library resources, formulating constructive ideas in written form, becoming familiar with report formats, and provide an exercise for practicing the use of correct spelling and grammar.  All are important skills to have to ensure your future success in education and future employment.

DIRECTIONS:  Each student will provide a 10-15 minute oral presentation of the 4-6 page written report.  The instructor must approve report topics.  Reports must relate to Environmental Health and Safety topics.  1. A minimum of three resources must be cited, in bibliographic format, on a separate page, that relate to your topic.

2. Use one source from the World Wide Web.

3. Only one article from a newspaper or popular non-technical source.

4.  A photocopy of all sources used must accompany your written report

Written and Oral Report Criteria

The written report provides the student with the skills for researching information using library resources, formulating constructive ideas in written form, becoming familiar with report formats, and provide an exercise for practicing the use of correct spelling and grammar.  All are important skills to have to ensure your future success in education and future employment.

1.Students choosing an Environmental Health and Safety Issue will: a.Fully describe the issue as it relates to topics discussed in the text, guest speaker or lecture.

b.Provide a complete inventory of the pros and cons; the arguments for and against.

c.In the conclusion, the student will convey what new things they learned from researching this topic and what their personal feelings are about the issue. 

2.Students choosing to write about an Environmental Health and Safety Disaster will:

a.Fully describe the events that led up to the disaster and the disaster itself.

b. Provide a description of events that resulted from the disaster.

c.Provide ideas and approaches that could have been taken to prevent the disaster from occurring.
