What we doMath 90 is a credit/no-credit course designed for students who may have been away from school for several years or who need a math refresher course to prepare them for more advanced subjects such as Math 103 or Math 110. In this course we review numeric and algebraic operations such as manipulating fractions, factoring polynomials, working with exponents, graphing and solving various types of equations. The course requires five hours of class time and one hour of computer lab each week.
This siteThis site will contain the latest schedule and homework for our Fall 2009 Math 90 class. The syllabus, schedule and homework pages are each accessed individually and are not grouped as was done on the first day of class. The site provides for pdf file download of all pages.
Recent changes8/26/09: The Syllabus has been changed and now calls out the textbook as edition 8 (not edition 7) 9/08/09: The schedule has been changed. It originally called out a Lab on Wed, 9/11/09 but that is not correct. The Lab is held on the following Monday. 9/12/09: We are deleting section 2.5 10/13/09: As you know,we are having a chapter test tomorrow (10/14/09) covering the material in Chapter 4. Although Section 4.7 was not included in the schedule, there will nevertheless be a couple questions on dividing by monomials and on dividing by binomials in the special case where there is no remainder. These types of problems were covered in class and in the quiz yesterday that you took home so you should be well prepared to solve these types of problems. 10/24/09: We have a new schedule caused by a redo of Test 4 11/12/09: Since we spent extra time on section 6.6, the schedule has changed once again. We will drop section 7.4. Useful Links for Math 90 StudentsHere are a few links you may find helpful in your studies.
