Fall 2008
OrientationHow this class will work: Please make sure that you have the Classroom in a book and Visual Quickstart textbooks and either Photoshop CS2 or CS3 installed on your computer. Please do not delay in the purchase of these items as we will be getting right into the software starting next week. If you do not have the software or are unsure of whether you want to be out the expense, you can use the computer labs on campus to do your assignments. This is also good information if your computer stops working for some unforeseen reason. Your main point of contact will come from me on Tuesdays in the form of an email with a link that you will follow to the current week's assignment. You should also check the assignment sheet on WebCT. Your assignments will become active every Tuesday night and will stay active for 2 weeks. After that they become unavailable. You will be expected to log onto the website, watch the videos and do the given assignment that is posted on WebCT. Upon completion you will go to WebCT, log in and upload your assignment to the WebCT assignment area. WebCT log ins and access should be available by the 2nd week of class and it has it's own orientation as well. It is important that you upload your assignments to WebCT in a timely fashion as that you will be given 7 days to complete the assignment, and only a week after that to turn in something late. After that, I no longer accept the work and the only way I will consider it is if you contact me well before and give me a valid explanation as to why your assignment was not turned in by the due date. Most of your assignments will come directly from the Classroom in a book text but there are a couple that will come from the Visual Quickstart. I typically follow the textbook though I think some of the topics are not in an order that I like. Rest assured we will cover most all of the chapters in the Photoshop Classroom in a Book known hereafter as PSCIBCS2 or PSCIBCS3. The majority of your grade will come from your projects so it is important to stay on top of them as falling behind will be verrrry bad! There are a couple of quizzes but with the nature of online classes, they don't hold much weight point wise. As you are working, please keep in mind that each thing that you are working on has the potential to go into your portfolio so try to always give it your best effort. Please check this site on a regular basis as information will change and new assignements will be given on the WebCT site. Please feel free to email me at anytime with questions, comments, or concerns! Sincerely,
