Mystery shopping is an excellent way to earn extra
money and have fun. A Mystery Shopper receives assignments from
companies that do business evaluations. Potential assignments may include evaluation
of restaurants, retail stores, banks, gas stations, theaters, or other entertainment
events. At the conclusion of the visit, a written report is completed. This course provides an overview of how
Mystery Shopping
works, what types of assessment forms are used, do's and don'ts of
completing an assignment and how to get into the "Shopper's Network."
To be a successful Mystery
Shopper students must have access to a personal computer. Bring a sack lunch.

Learning Theories and Learning Styles
This course will provide an overview
of learning theories relevant to career and technical education that
emphasizes the importance of teaching not only technical skills but
higher order thinking, problem solving, and collaborative skills to
prepare workers entry into and advancement in the workplace. Learning
styles will be defined and the importance of understanding the
difference among learning styles to enhance student learning. Career and
technical education instructors will gain knowledge of how to
incorporate constructivist/ contextual learning theory and accommodate
various learning styles when designing their curriculum.

Critical Elements of Course Structure
This course will provide an overview
of how to create a syllabus, basic elements of course structure,
including student learning outcomes (SLOs), and their application.
Practical exercises in developing syllabi and SLOs will be presented.
Participants will gain knowledge of how to develop course objectives,
