necessary to provide safe and responsible care for children in the absence
of parents or adult guardians. This fun, interactive course teaches first
aid and safety skills to prevent and respond to emergencies. As a Red Cross
trained babysitter, youth gain confidence and valuable employment skills to

The Heritage of the
Americas Museum is the backdrop to see and understand survival skills
developed all over the world. In this course, you will build a model
shelter, make fire by friction, rig and lift a weight using a rope and
pulleys. You will follow an orienteering course using a compass and learn to
use a lever and fulcrum, saw with a 2-person cross-cut saw and use a wooden
yoke to carry a burden. You will hear campfire stories and learn about the
Oregon Trail. This course will end with a hobo cookout. Bring drinking water
and a hat. Ages 10-14.

What exactly is a flower, and why are flowers so beautiful? Experience the
lovely colors, cents, and textures of flowers as you create a piece of
artwork to display at home. Story time and a tasty treat round out this
class for budding gardeners and their adult chaperones. For children ages 4
and up with an adult. Older children enthusiastic about this topic are
welcome.
