NEW! Girls on Guard-Self Defense for Women Ages 13 years to Adult  

 

Fee: $45 

According to the Department of Justice, 1 in 4 women will be assaulted in their lifetime. 90% of the time they know their assailant! This fun, realistic & empowering Self Defense Class for Women and Teens teaches how and why women are attacked, vulnerable areas of a woman’s lifestyle, and the difference between date, acquaintance and stranger assaults. What assailants look for in their victims. Students will learn the 10 most common ways women are attacked and the opportunity to practice their techniques on an instructor wearing padded armored protection. This is not a martial arts program.

Gentle/Hatha Yoga

Fee: $20

Gentle/Hatha Yoga is a blend of static and dynamic poses designed to improve flexibility, strength, and balance. Focused breathing and relaxation will be incorporated. Participants are encouraged to work at their own pace. Please wear comfortable clothing and bring a yoga mat and towel.

Hatha Vinyasa Flow Yoga

Fee: $20

Hatha Vinyasa is a steady, dynamic flow of connected yoga postures linked with the breath.  It is designed to develop strength, endurance, vitality, and flexibility.  A bit more vigorous than Gentle Hatha Yoga, this format can be adapted (or modified) for all levels of fitness.  Please wear comfortable clothing and bring a yoga mat and towel.

An introductory course to yoga exercises and philosophy. Focusing on increasing flexibility, improving posture and learning correct breathing techniques.

Power Yoga

Fee: $40

A very active class, based on Ashtanga yoga, which emphasizes the use of yoga poses to strengthen your body, increase flexibility and balance and improve your breathing to optimize your overall fitness.  Make your body a better vehicle for your mind.  Please wear exercise clothing and bring a towel and a yoga mat.

Power Walking/Running Track Class

Fee: $50

Come to the Cuyamaca College track and join other power walkers and runner as we improve our skill, stamina, endurance, and fitness together! Regardless of your current walking or running speed/skill, you will definitely improve your fitness level over the course of the class. Lose weight, get healthy, and meet a group of other like-minded fitness lovers. Group stretches, drills, and strength building exercises will be incorporated into each session to compliment and balance the power of walking and running.
