Water Conservation & Use/Reuse
ARRA funded training served 54 students. Last class offered October 2010.
Program Overview:
As California enters a third year of a drought, water conservation and use/reuse continue to be critical issue. Drought is only part of what threatens the state’s water supply. Safe water is critical to public health, economic development, fire protection and quality of life. It is vital to our way of life that we quickly train and certify students in this demanding green industry. To start addressing this important workforce Cuyamaca has created two certificate programs in water conservation use and reuse.

This 40-hour course prepare students for the AWWA (American Water Works Association
Water Conservation Practitioner) certification test. Students will gain knowledge and
skills in water supply and demand, utility water demand characteristics, operations
and measures in residential, commercial, industrial and institutional.

This 96-hour course prepares students for the CLCA (California Landscapers Contractors Association)
and CLIA (Certified Landscape Irrigation Auditor) certification test. Students will gain knowledge and
skills in irrigation scheduling, water audit methods, water budgets, water use monitoring, water
management principles and practices. |
