Great News!
The State has provided some money to fund professional development
activities during 2007-2008 for faculty, classified employees, and
administrators. After a great deal of discussion, the Professional
Development Committee has defined some parameters to guide us as we
consider applications for this funding.
Should you desire funding for a professional development activity
(training session, conference attendance, colloquium travel, etc.),
you may apply to the committee for funding support. In an effort to
be fair to all, given a limited budget, the following guidelines
have been established:
o Up to $300 for activities within
California
o Up to $500
for activities outside of California
o Up to $150 for activities within
California
o Up to $250 for
activities outside of California
o Up to an additional $100 if presenting at
a conference or colloquium
In order to apply for
these funds, please submit to your dean/supervisor a completed
Request for Attendance at Off-Campus Activity form along with a copy
of the conference or training schedule or some other formal
notification of the event. On the form, please be sure to check "yes"
for the question that asks, “Is this a Staff Development
Activity?” Once your dean/supervisor has approved the activity,
the packet will be sent forward to the Staff Development Committee
for review.
Other Possible Funding Sources.
There are other sources that may help defray some or all costs.
Mileage to and from a conference, for example, is reimbursed through
the Cuyamaca College Business Office, and technology related
conferences may be funded through TTIP or Title III
(see

María
Mendoza Bautista). |
