Continental Breakfast for those attending CC-S-90 Workshop (Below)
Moving
to where we want to go:
Presenter(s): Michael Wangler This workshop will kick off the Cuyamaca College Spring 2008 Professional Development week on Student Learning Outcomes. This 4-hour training and work session will highlight successful strategies for assessing Student Learning Outcomes at the course, program and department levels. Emphasis will be placed on developing assessment strategies that build on what we already do well, and incorporating those strategies into our existing processes in a meaningful and manageable way. Participants will gain hands-on experience designing assessment tools specific to their needs, and will leave the workshop with the necessary skills to begin planning for, and eventually implementing their own assessment activities for improving student learning. Dr. Marilee Bresciani, Associate Professor of Postsecondary Education Leadership at San Diego State University, will facilitate this workshop. Dr. Bresciani’s research focuses on the evaluation of student learning and development in higher education, including effective assessment strategies within the community college system. She has authored or co-authored several definitive publications on the subject, including Assessing Student Learning and Development: A Handbook for Practitioners (2004), and Good Practice Case Studies for Assessing Student Learning in General Education (2007).
