I grew up with a family involved in the
"Green Industry" in San Diego county. After discovering physics was not my
forte' at UCSD, I transferred to the University of
California, Davis where I earned my BS in Plant Science in 1976. With my love for
plant propagation, I continued my academic career researching the potential of asexual
propagation of the genus Eucalyptus, and in doing so, receiving my MS in
Horticulture at UC Davis in the year 1978.
Travel is a passion for me. This old
Armenian proverb sums up my feelings for life: " it is not he who has lived the
longest, but he who has traveled the farthest, who knows the most." I have traveled
through the world teaching and learning about plant propagation and often taking my family
with me. While not "botanizing", I enjoy the theatre and hiking in the San Diego
backcountry and the "High Country" of
Colorado.
