the class. If you do not drop the class it is possible that you will
remain listed on the class roster and receive a grade of - F.
ASSIGNMENTS:
-
Students are expected to complete their assignments without assistance.
-
Support is available from your instructor via private messages if your
are having difficulty completing an assignment.
-
You cannot have another student do any part of an assignment for you.
-
You cannot submit work that another student contributed in creating.
This means unless you are required to download a data file that for
most assignments you will start with an empty file and create your
assignment content without assistance.
-
You cannot cut and paste content from another document.
-
You cannot share a computer with someone else in the class without
contacting me for approval first.
-
I use various methods to identify students who share work or submit the
work from another student as their own.
-
Students who submit work created or derived from the work of another
student will earn 0 points from such submissions.
-
A second such submission will result in being dropped from the course.
I follow the college
Academic Honesty
policy described below with students who submit work from another
student or plagiarize work from any source without listing the source of
their submission.
-
Assignments must be submitted by the due dates.
-
If your computer has problems you should use one of the college open
labs until it is fixed
(Computer problems are
not a valid excuse for late work)
-
Some of the lab assignments require significantly more time to complete.
(Don't wait until the due date to stat your lab assignments)
LATE
ASSIGNMENTS
-
Students will be dropped from the class, for lack of progress, if they
are behind by 3 assignments or more.
-

points
Assignments over 1
week late
do not earn any points
QUIZZES
/ TESTS
-
The quizzes cover the lecture from the
Discovering Computer text.
-
The quizzes on the lecture material will generally consist of between

These questions are taken from both the chapter reading and the online
content.
-
Study guide questions will help you prepare for the quizzes

be collected or graded. The student assignments from the lab books will

-
I will explain the answers to the chapter review questions when
requested.
