SAM Assignments

The SAM Assignments provide training on the MS Office applications. They are coordinated with the chapters in your lab textbook. For example SAM E1 - Excel 1 covers the skills presented in the first chapter in the Excel lab book.

It is highly recommended that you complete the SAM tutorials before you attempt the assignments in the lab books. The following picture shows you the list of lab assignments.

  1. Complete SAM E1 Tutorial
  2. Complete SAM E1 Exam
  3. Complete Excel lab assignment from Chapter 1 of the Excel lab book

and so on ...

IMPORTANT!: To earn credit for the SAM assignments you need to complete the Apply section in SAM training and then complete the SAM Exam for that training.  The SAM Test will not be listed as available until you complete ALL the steps in the Apply section. You may need to refresh the SAM assignments page to see the SAM Exam. It will be displayed automatically the next time you log into the SAM site.

Typically you will want to do the following in this order:

  1. Complete the Observe training
  2. Complete the Practice training
  3. Complete the Apply training
  4. Complete the correspondingExam

Remember only the Exam earns points.

BE SURE TO CLICK EXIT on the navigation bar to save your training progress. If you fail to click the Exit button your training session will not be saved and you will not receive credit for completing it!

Tips

  • If you are familiar with the topic you can try to complete the Apply part without completing the Observe or Practice part.

Then you will see this screen and click Close. You do not need to print.
