SEVEN SLO's

Goal #1: Information competency @ Reference Desk, Library Orientations and LIR classes.

SLO 1: The student will acquire the information competency skill of being able to construct a successful search statement, by using keyword and/or subject search terms, in order to find sources for their research. ACRL Standard 1

SLO 2: The student will demonstrate the information competency skill of being able to select and use the appropriate information retrieval tool  (e.g.the library catalog or subscription databases)

SLO 3: The student will acquire the information competency skill of being able to evaluate information sources and determine each source’s reliability, validity, authority and point of view. ACRL Standard 3

Goal #2:  Library collection of print and non-print sources that support learning and research for students

SLO 4:

The student will demonstrate the information competency skill of being able to identify the most appropriate search tools (databases, websites, tutorials) to find different types of information.  OR

Student will demonstrate the information competency skill of being able to use computers to access databases to retrieve library resources in a variety of formats such as books, encyclopedias, articles, and websites. ACRL Standard 2

SLO 5: The student will demonstrate the ability to use the different library collections that are available to support their research. ACRL Standard 2

Goal #3:  Library circulation and technical services that support learning and research for students.

SLO 6: The student will acquire information competency skill of being able to use library technical services such as interlibrary loan and reserve collection. ACRL Standard 2

SLO 7: The student will  utilize instructional technology and physical facilities. ACRL Standard 2
