Goal #1: Library Instruction that improves student information competency skills

SLO 1: Define the information gathering process needed in order to develop a focused research thesis. ACRL Standard 1

SLO 2: Select the most appropriate resources (interviews, journals, library catalog, databases, Internet, etc.) in order to retrieve relevant information.  ACRL Standard 2

SLO 3: Critically evaluate information sources and determine source reliability, validity, authority, and point of view. ACRL Standard 3

Goal #2:  Collections that improve student information competency skills. 

SLO 4 Identify the different ways that resources are organized in the Library online and print collection.

SLO 5 Use computers to access databases to retrieve collection resources in a variety of formats such as books, encyclopedias, articles, and websites.

SLO 6. Able to remotely access sources held by public, university and specialized libraries.

Goal #3:  Technical services and facilities that improve student information competency skills.

SLO 7 Demonstrate ability to use technical services such as interlibrary loan, reserve collection, check out items to facilitate research.

SLO 8 Utilize the library's physical environment such as computers, study areas and conference rooms to facilitate study and research.

SLO 9 Utilize the library's technical equipment such as OPACS, audio, and DVD, e-mail, CD-Rom, Print servers and scanners to facilitate study and research.
