The Course for Spring 2008:

(On-campus orientation Sat., 1/26, from 2:00 - 3:00 pm in Room F508)

This course uses the online program "Blackboard" as a "virtual classroom." Instead of coming to on-campus classes, the course is held online and can be assessed anytime day or night from anywhere. The only on-campus meetings are an orientation and two exams (see below). The online classroom experience is based on a  printed textbook, CD of case study videos, online multimedia, and online discussions.

 

The course includes the following:

1. Online instructor video preface for each chapter

2. Online learning objectives, chapter outline, chapter glossaries

3. Online audio flashcards and crossword puzzles for reviewing terms and information

4. Online CD PowerPoint presentations and videos (some chapters)

5. Online quizzes (both open-book and timed closed-book)

6. Web site reports or InfoTrac activities (with instructor feedback)

7. Optional online chapter summary fill-ins

8. Two exams (can be taken online or on-campus)

9. Posted online discussions with both the instructor and other students about subject content

10. Optional online student presentations (posted for all to view)

11. Complete and detailed online student progress records that are constantly updated throughout the course

Your final grade will be based on:

    - optional summary fill-in quiz (1 per chapter)

    - optional online presentations (2 per semester)
