Year One Update Page  
   

Title III - Year 2:  Technology Integration

 
  • Increase the number of faculty who access online staff development.
  • Enhance methods already in place by using innovative resources.
  • Purchase 10 new computers for faculty upgrades.
  • Fund full time faculty help desk position.
  • Pilot student help desk for first 3 weeks of semester.
 

Title III - Year 2:  Student Services

 
  • Integrate Title III student services goals (1.2 Fully implement online counseling) with goals of the Counseling department.
  • Research online counseling models in other colleges.
  • Create plan to integrate online counseling at CC. Implement phase I.
  • Create liaisons within instruction to assist retention specialist in facilitating student success information to students.
  • Maintain current Early Alert activities within institution. Send reminders to faculty to use system.
  • Continue collaboration with the Student Success Committee.
 

Title III - Year 2:  Instruction

 
  • Develop an FAQ on Title III to disseminate in various campus committees
  • Purchase English and Math software (tutoring software)
  • Monitor faculty stipend projects for Year 1
  • New faculty stipend awards for Year 2
  • Track learning communities project via Eric Preibisius’ stipend project
  • Monitor the math study center as a learning community
  • Develop new curriculum to increase comprehensiveness of programs and preparation of lower division course work for transfer students.
 

Title III - Year 2:  Instruction & Student Services

 
  • Use avenues within institution to assist in assessment of students.
  • Meet with various departments and classrooms on campus to disseminate information about high-risk students (emphasize on resources available to students via instruction and student services).
  • Collaborate with EOPS and ESL classes (and other basic skills classes) to present student success workshops.
  • Improve the ability of students to complete courses, programs, degrees and preparation for transfer through a combined effort by Instruction and Student Services to develop and offer appropriate, relevant curriculum while at the same time providing the tools and resources  inside and outside the classroom that are necessary to succeed.
 

Title III - Year 2:  Faculty Training

 
  • Continue faculty training in TLC
  • Present a “high-risk students” workshop in Fall 2005 staff development
  • Offer “basic skills” staff development workshop
  • Expand online training to accommodate the busy schedules of faculty.
