Proposal & Application for Faculty Stipend: Year 1

 Must address one of the following Title III project components: (check one or more) 

_____    Technology Integration:   This component focuses on the utilization of technology as a tool to increase access to support services, improve learning environments or enhance student success. (Funds may not be used for the development of online courses). 

____    Faculty Training:   This component focuses on training faculty and staff to identify and address the needs of high-risk students, and on training faculty to utilize technologies in order to better engage students. 

____    Curriculum Development:   The focus of this component is on developing curricula to increase student retention and success. Curriculum development is needed to ensure a smooth transition from one course level to the next, particularly from basic skills to collegiate-level courses; to ensure that the college curriculum is aligned and articulated with other institutions; to ensure that some programs do not have an excessive number of required units; and to ensure that the curriculum is comprehensive in key areas, ie. where students need capstone classes to complete their entire program. 

The following criteria will be used to rate your proposal:

  1. Goals of the project.
  2. Feasibility of project: implementation plan.
  3. Outcome/deliverable of project.
  4. Willingness to do a staff development presentation.
  5. Potential for student success and retention.
  6. Self-sustainability of the project.
  7. Relationship of project to Cuyamaca College strategic initiatives

Note: Stipend awards will range from $500 for curriculum development projects and up
to a maximum of $2500 for a development and implementation project. (Awards are per
project and not per person - in the case of a team effort)
 

Please include the following in your proposal: 

  1. Description of project (abstract).
  2. Project and activity(ies) you will accomplish to achieve your goals.
  3. Project Timeline.
  4. Cost analysis: How many hours the project will take.  Please give a detailed explanation of how the
    hours will be used. Other costs.
  5. A description of how the project supports the student success and retention components of the Title III
    project at Cuyamaca College.
  6. Estimated number of students/staff impacted by project.
  7. A description of how the project will be continued after special funding ends.
  8. Method(s) of evaluating the project.
  9. Proposed stipend request.

Note: APPLICATION DEADLINE IS SEPTEMBER 10, 2004, you may email your submission to maria.mendoza@gcccd.net or deliver to room L133. 

Other requirements:
If I am awarded a stipend, I will provide the Title III office and Cuyamaca College with a final report of my
completed project.
