| About Turnitin for Faculty As part of our effort to teach information competency and academic integrity, Cuyamaca College has purchased Turnitin. 1) To get started view the training materials at the www.turnitin.com website. Cuyamaca has purchased "Plagiarism Prevention". We do not subscribe to Grademark, Peer review, GradeBook. You have the option of having your students at Cuyamaca College submit most or all of their written take-home assignments to you through Turnitin. 2) You may
request an account
from
Jeri
Resto, account administrator. 3)
You must revise your syllabi that
you will be using Turnitin. 4) You must have them sign a written consent . 5) You must be aware of FERPA and FPCO and Cuyamaca Academic Honesty Policies and limitations of Turnitin 6) If you choose to have your students upload their papers, please provide sample student instructions, You need to instruct your students on how to create a user account, join their class, and upload/submit assignments Turnitin then compares the work for sentence or phrase matches against three
databases: a comprehensive Internet snapshot, a library of published
articles, and a pool of millions of previously submitted student papers. The
instructor receives an "Originality
report" and a "Similarity Index" (see illustration) for each submitted student work and
