Cuyamaca’s innovative Water & Wastewater Technology Program provides pre-employment training as well as advanced courses in water and wastewater technology for those wishing career advancement.
Courses prepare students for certification examinations administered by the State of California as well as those administered by professional associations within the water and wastewater industry.
Current instructors are experienced water and wastewater professionals, expert and up-to-date in best-of-breed industry practices. Classes are built around practical examples of real-world scenarios, demonstrations, and field trips whenever possible to maximize understanding of subject matter. Internships are available, too.

Recent News about the Water and Wastewater Technology Program
New Department: As of
January 1, 2012 the Water and Wastewater Technology Program will no
longer be combined with the Ornamental Horticulture Program. There
will be an independent Water and Wastewater Technology Program with Don
Jones as the Program Coordinator. The two programs will continue
to cooperate on important advancements, including the proposed new
certificate and degree in Water Resource Mgt. which is expected to be
approved for offering in Fall 2012.
New Grant:
Cuyamaca College has been awarded a $535,000 state grant to lead a
partnership of seven California community colleges that will provide
more training for jobs in the water and wastewater field.

New Full Time Instructor:
The WWTR Program has been approved
to proceed with hiring it's first full time instructor to start
in the fall. We will post more details as soon as the hiring
packet is complete.
