Teaching Remotely

Help with teaching and teaching technology (Zoom, Canvas, Video).  Online workshops and individual help. 

Administrative Services

The Business Office continues to receive forms (now electronic) and answer general questions.

Electronic signatures will be accepted on most district forms. A quick guide on e-signatures will be available soon.

Grant Reports are processed by the Business Office, if you are a Project Directors please notify the Business Office of upcoming deadlines and prepare the grant reports ahead of schedule.

The switchboard will continue to assist callers by email or phone on Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm. All emails and voicemails will be returned within 24 hours during regular business hours. 

USPS mail will be held at the Post Office. Mike Erickson will pick up and distribute the mail every Thursday between 8am-12pm. Mike will alert departments of any urgent mail. For outgoing department mail, please coordinate directly with Mike for postage and processing. 

The Cashier’s Office will continue to assist students remotely by email and phone on Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm. All voicemails are routed to Billie Lavan and/or Rabie Al-Shaikh and will be returned within 24 hours during regular business hours.

Here is what you can do on your financial aid while we work remotely… 

  • View your financial aid status online by logging into WebAdvisor
  • Visit the Financial Aid Webpage for general financial aid information, BankMobile, contacts, and forms.

Free and Low-cost Internet

Several companies are providing free or low-cost internet access during the current emergency.


Librarians offer targeted services for specific courses. Many students have difficulties accessing electronic resources remotely and need help. Contact Jeri Edelen to receive remote library support for your courses. 

  • Embedded Library Research Guides: Hand-picked resources from the library organized by course assignment or by program. 
  • Online Guest Librarian: Sometimes you just want your students to find 1-2 sources. In this case, you can use the Guest Librarian for just that one assignment. The librarian will join your course as a "guest lecturer" in the discussion forum on Canvas.

Personal Counseling

Personal Counseling is available by phone. Call 619-660-4200 or email to make an appointment. Personal counseling is available Tuesday and Friday, 9 AM – 3 PM and Thursday, 9 AM – 5 PM.

Code of Conduct

Tips for Preventing Academic Misconduct:

*Remind students of your classroom guidelines as it applies to academic misconduct and the areas that constitute academic misconduct (examples could include: unauthorized collaboration, plagiarism, cheating, forgery, falsification of information, purchasing papers, utilizing “cheating” websites, recycling assignments). 

*Remind students of the consequences for engaging in academic misconduct (receiving a failing grade on the assignment/exam). 

*Discussion of possible sanctions for further violations (formal student conduct through Student Affairs, which can result in a formal warning letter, disciplinary file, and possible school suspension for repeat cases.) 

Reporting Academic Misconduct Issues

If you have students who engaged in academic misconduct, please contact Lauren Vaknin (, Dean of Student Affairs to assist with the next steps. As a reminder, the student code of conduct defines academic misconduct as:

*Cheating, plagiarism (including plagiarism in a student publication), or engaging in other academic dishonesty as defined by the College’s academic integrity standards
