Together, EHSM faculty represent over 150 years combined experience in the field of Environmental Health and Safety that include management in regulatory compliance/ inspection, construction, environmental consultation, emergency response, and general industry. All members of the EHSM faculty team have worked in the field between 15-35 years, bringing to the classroom both knowledge and valuable wisdom which is paramount to a successful career in Environmental Health and Safety. EHSM faculty work in industry and are aware of industry needs, regulatory requirements, industry contacts, lessons learned, management techniques, and motivational skills to prepare students for the critical link between the classroom and the workforce.

Environmental Health and safety management

Overview

Every business has unique environmental health and safety issues. The goal is send workers home to their family and community safe and sound while protecting the environment and reinforcing environmental health and safety regulations.

We offer an Associate of Science degree and technician certificates in two areas: Environmental Management and Occupational Safety and Health Management.

ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT

Environmental Managers maintain EHS compliance with emphasis on waste treatment technologies, current hazardous waste and hazardous materials regulations, business compliance, emergency responses, toxicology, pollution prevention, and the management and cleanup of air, water, and soil.

Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Management

Occupational Safety and Health Specialists inspect places of employment for unsafe equipment and working conditions. You will assist employers in complying with Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) regulations and standards by conducting inspections; observing and repairing monitoring equipment; conducting safety and health training; investigating accidents; improving safety preparedness.

Emphasis on hazardous agents in the work environment; regulations pertaining Safety and Health; occupational diseases and methods of prevention; industrial safety practices; monitoring techniques for airborne contaminants, noise, heat, illumination, and radiation; and the administration and management of safety programs.
