EastLake to Cuyamaca College and back

I bicycle from home in EastLake, Chula Vista, north through Bonita, up the gorge on the east wall of which sits the majestic fin de siècle Sweetwater Dam, then eastward through what journalists call "gritty" La Presa to Cuyamaca College in Rancho San Diego, southern El Cajon. This takes an hour or so. It's a mere fifteen miles or so each way, not much to speak of as cycling distances go, but bear in mind that these are brutally vertical miles, a considerable workout. And then, of course, after a hard day of slaving over a hot classroom, I have to do the whole thing again in reverse--including the ever-challenging Corral Canyon Road.
