Steps to Enroll

  1. Apply
    Apply for Admission to Cuyamaca College. Applications take between 24 to 48 hours to process, before the student will be active. Students will remain active until they miss two consecutive terms. If this occurs, students will have to reapply using the same application account initially created.

  2. Online Orientation
    The online orientation is a series of videos designed to introduce you to the college of your choosing. Below you will find directions and a How-To video to help you access and complete the orientation for Grossmont or Cuyamaca.

  3. Placement Assessment
    A placement assessment questionnaire is used to place new students into appropriate levels of Math and English or English as a Second Language (ESL) courses.

  4. Complete AB540 Affidavit
    AB540 allows eligible undocumented, legal permanent resident and U.S. citizen students to pay in-state tuition at public colleges and universities.

  5. Online Advising
    This online advising can be accessed by logging into Self-Service. This interactive virtual advising session will assist you in creating your initial educational plan.
  6. Register for Classes

  7. Complete California Dream Act Application
    (Between January 1st and March 2nd each year) The Dream Act may be completed by undocumented students who meet AB540 criteria.
    Once your application is submitted, it will be forwarded to the Cuyamaca College Financial Aid department to determine your eligibility for the California College Promise Grant (CCPG) and Cal Grant. Apply for CCPG (fee waiver) using Self-Service located under the Financial Aid and Scholarships section.
  8. Pay Fees
    Don't forget to pay your tuition fees once you have registered for classes.

  9. Attend Class
    Attend the first day of class. Students who are not present on the first day of class may be dropped.
