Cuyamaca Students Receive Scholarship

On Saturday, March 18, at the Live Your Dream Awards Luncheon hosted by Soroptimist International of San Diego, two Cuyamaca College students, Charlotte Reed and Jessica Paredes, received scholarships. The Live Your Dream Program honors women for their herculean efforts to make life better for themselves and their children through continuing education.

Jessica Paredes
As a mother of two children, Jessica's passion is to be the best version of herself for her children. She has been working toward her Child Development and Child Behavioral Science degree for about four years. She has a passion for working with children, watching them find their milestone moments and seeing their prideful smiles when they master a new task. She is an educator, a mother, and an independent woman full of adventure. Jessica strives to show her children that anything can be possible with the knowledge and passion.

Charlotte Reed
Charlotte is a strong, focused, and determined woman working hard to succeed. She was motivated to return to school by being able to provide for her family. She is a single mother to an autistic son who motivates her to make the best out of life.  As the sole provider for her son, Charlotte is a full-time employee and is currently studying Business Administration at Cuyamaca College. She plans to transfer to San Diego State University in the fall 2024. In the future, she is looking to study Social Work to provide more assistance to her communities’ families.
