Welcome to the Performing Arts Department

Our Mission:

The programs, courses, and activities of our department are designed to with two purposes in mind:

1) to generate, sponsor, and support all manner of performing arts for the community that we serve. To that end, our performing groups invite you to join and participate, or to attend - you don't have to be a music or theater arts major to get involved! Similarly, our facilities are here to serve you. As we settle into our new state of the art Communication Arts building, our goal is to offer a full schedule of concerts and events that will enrich the cultural life of East County.

2) to provide educational and training opportunities for students who are planning careers in the performing arts. We currently offer a transfer degree in music education, and are developing a program in Music Industry Studies.

So stay tuned, and let us know how we can better serve you.

Pat Setzer
Chairperson, Performing Arts Department
