CalWORKs
Visit the Cuyamaca College's CalWORKs Program web site. Our program is called S.T.E.P.S. which is an acronym for Success Through Education Produces Self-Sufficiency.
Our program provides supportive services to CalWORKs recipients attending Cuyamaca College. We help students to achieve individual educational goals as well as learn employable skills with the ultimate goal of increased wage earning power to become economically self-sufficient.
The CalWORKs S.T.E.P.S. staff is ready to help potential and current students. We offer a variety of services and financial resources that can help you cover your educational and living costs while you are a student.
CARE
Cooperative Agencies Resources for Education
CARE is designed for single parent students who participate in the EOPS program and receive CalWORKs/TANF assistance.
CARE provides child care grants for study time (as funding permits), success seminars, new and continuing student orientation, access to Food Pantry and holiday events.
Child Care Center
The Child Development Center at Cuyamaca College serves as a campus-based child development lab school, providing both learning and/or observation opportunities for students enrolled in child development courses and childcare services to students, staff, and community families. Providing demonstration classrooms to the college community, our program offers a model of best practice in early childhood education while providing students on-floor interactions with young children and their families.
Ages Served: 18 months to five years old.
Admission is open to all families regardless to race, creed, color, or national origin. Children of students, staff and community may be enrolled in any of the programs offered which includes 1/2 day, 3/4 day and full day schedules.
DSPS
Disabled Students Programs and Services (DSPS) assists students with disabilities by determining and providing appropriate academic accommodations related to their disabilities in order for them to achieve their educational goals.

EOPS
EOPS counselors ease the transition into college for new, returning and re-entry students. The over and above support provided improves access to higher education.
EOPS is designed for the recruitment, orientation and retention of California residents who are economically and educationally disadvantaged.
Veterans
Cuyamaca College Veterans Center enrolls over 550 veterans with approximately 300 completing the certification process in order to begin receiving their VA Educational benefits. Through the Veterans Services Office, veterans are provided comprehensive education plans for student success at Cuyamaca College geared towards meeting the needs of military veterans helping the transition from the military to college life in a positive perspective.
