Welcome to Cuyamaca College's CalWORKs Program web site. Our program is called S.T.E.P.S. which is an acronym for Success Through Education Produces Self-Sufficiency.

Our program provides supportive services to CalWORKs recipients attending Cuyamaca College. We help students to achieve individual educational goals as well as learn employable skills with the ultimate goal of increased wage earning power to become economically self-sufficient.

The CalWORKs S.T.E.P.S. staff is ready to help potential and current students. We offer a variety of services and financial resources that can help you cover your educational and living costs while you are a student.

The CalWORKs Program supports the college's statement on equity.  You can read it here.

NOTE: Due to COVID-19, the State has stopped all CalWORKs 48-month clocks and there are no negative actions being done.  This means if you fail to meet the required 20/30/35 hours per week, there will be no non-compliance or sanction actions until 6/30/2021 or further notice.  Good cause and flexibility will be offered to all active participants.  It also means that if you were due to time off during the last few months, you are still receiving aid.  However, redetermination (SAR6) is still required.  Be sure to turn that in when requested.
