Welcome to Language and Communication at Cuyamaca College! Our goal is to help you become a successful professional in any field that requires strong language and communication skills. Students in this academic pathway often transition into careers in business, law, teaching, public service, international relations, translation, writing/editing, journalism, and more. Program Right for You?

The Language and Communication Academic and Career Pathway prepares students to be creative and critical thinkers through effective written and oral communication skills. In addition, by studying languages, students gain a deeper understanding of the Latinx, Arabic, and deaf cultures through the context of their history and culture.


Careers in Language and Communication

Students following this pathway can find jobs as public relations specialist, advertising manager, translator, interpreter, writer/editor, journalist, news reporter, announcer, educator, librarian, international relations specialist, lawyer, paralegal, public service, and more.
