We offer a wide range of options for students to choose from to get the help they are looking for. Please review the options from this list to determine which session is the best for your needs.
For spring 2022, all drop-in sessions will be conducted via Zoom. Drop-in sessions are 10-15 minutes and are meant for the following:

A counselor will review your question and respond through the online system within 3 business days. Questions should be brief and relate to general academic questions only, no petition assistance is available through this service.

If you have been requested by the Financial Aid Office to provide a Maximum Unit Petition to be considered for financial aid funds, you will need to schedule an appointment below. It is required for you to complete your typed statement (located on the last page of the form) before your appointment time.
We are not able to review your financial aid status, should you have questions regarding your file, please contact the Financial Aid Office for assistance.

Schedule your max unit petition appointment
Students who meet certain criteria outlined in the Academic Renewal Petition should meet with a counselor to discuss your options.
If you are a student enrolled or interested enrolling in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math major meet with a dedicated STEM counselor.
STEM Education Planning - 1 hour: Full two year education plans; Choosing a major; Career counseling; Personal counseling (related to academic success); Transfer planning; Graduation planning.
If you are a student athlete or prospective student athlete, meet with a dedicated Athletic Counselor. Students who do not fall into this category should refer to the options above for assistance.
Quick Question -15 minute appointments are for the following: Quick questions, One semester plan (AEP), Unit overload petition, Help with registering for classes
Class Planning - 30 minute appointments are for the following: Picking classes, Eligibility, Full two year education plans (semester by semester), Financial Aid Petitions, Choosing a Major, Career Counseling, Personal Counseling (related to academic success), Transfer/Graduation planning, Professional Referrals to Community Resources
The UMOJA Scholars program at Cuyamaca College is a student success program aimed for closing the equity and achievement gaps for students that identify as Black, African, and/or African American, which are disproportionately impacted.

How to cancel an appointment: Should you not be able to attend your appointment for any reason, please cancel by signing back into the system or giving us a call with at least 2 hours notice, if possible.
Duplicate appointments: During our screening process, if you have scheduled more than 1 appointment for the same service, the first appointment scheduled will be canceled.
Cancellation Policy: Failure to attend your appointment will result in a "no-show." Students who "no-show" three (3) times in the same semester will not be allowed to schedule another appointment until the following semester.
