Serving as a Classified Representative on a Search and Interview Committee

If you are interested in serving as a Classified representative on a search and interview committee, please respond to the specific call-out email from Classified.Senate@gcccd.edu

 

Any permanent (i.e., non-probationary), full-time or percent-of-contract Classified employee who has completed the GCCCD HIRE training within the last two years is eligible for consideration. If you need to complete the HIRE Training, please register via the Vision Resource Center (VRC).

 

Request Classified Representatives on a Search and Interview Committee

If you are a chair of a search and interview committee, please complete this form to request Classified representatives. This form is also available via GCCCD's Human Resources department.

Please note that the Academic Senate appoints faculty representatives, the Administrators Association (AA) appoints AA representatives, and our EEO Site Lead, Karen Marrujo, appoints EEO representatives. 

 

Please see information below from our personnel procedures (PEs) regarding the minimum number of classified representatives required for each search and interview committee. PEs are posted on this Human Resources webpage.

  • Full-Time/Tenure-Track Faculty Positions: At least one (1) Classified (non-management/supervisory) employee; see PE9 for more information.
  • Part-Time (Adjunct) Faculty: No Classified representatives are required to serve on the Department Hiring Workgroup for part-time faculty; see PE2 for more information.
  • Classified Employee Positions: At least two (2) Classified (non-management/supervisory) employees; see PE12 for more information.
  • Director and Supervisor Positions: At least two (2) Classified (non-management/supervisory) employees; see this draft of PE13 for more information.
  • Dean Positions: At least two (2) Classified (non-management/supervisory) employees; see this draft of PE13 for more information.
  • Vice President/Associate Vice Chancellor/Vice Chancellor Positions: Classified Senate President or designee and at least one (1) Classified (non-management/supervisory) employee; see this draft of PE13 for more information.
