Federal Work Study
The Federal Work-Study (FWS) program gives students the opportunity to earn part or all of their financial aid by working on-campus or off-campus in community service positions while they are in school.
Examples include: teacher's aide, clerk, grounds person, custodian, and lab assistant. Your wage will
be determined by the type and difficulty of the work for which you are hired.
All current federal work-study positions are listed in Cuyamaca's Job Board for students called Handshake. Once you create an account and you will be able to search all available Federal Work Study opportunities, upload a resume, and apply for a position.
You MUST ALREADY have a federal work-study award on your offer letter to apply for these positions. If you are not sure if you have been offered work-study, please login to Self-Service and click on the Financial Aid - 2024-2025 Forward tile to view your financial aid offer(s).
All efforts are made to ensure the jobs listed on Handshake are currently available. However, there may be times when the job posted here has already been filled. If that happens, you will need to find another position to apply for.
The Federal Work-Study Jobs will be updated throughout the academic year as the job positions are filled or new job positions become available.
